Learning outcomes

At the end of the workshop (activities strictly relevant to the objectives of this course) the student acquires skills and knowledge to address specific linguistic and philological issues and problems.

Course contents

By attending the whole series of seminars scheduled every year by the Greek section of the Dipartimento di Filologia Classica e Italianistica the students will have the opportunity to: a) approach in a critical way the problems related to the study of Greek literature in the variety of its forms and stages; b) compare different methodological approaches (from Italian and foreign schools) in the study of Greek culture; c) take part in lectures (usually scheduled on Friday at 11 AM) and seminars (including all the Seminari Degani) where their active participation will be encouraged (scheduled usually on Thursday at 4 PM).

- Seminari Degani (lectures by Elena Fabbro, Antonio Aloni, Francesco Bossi, Gabriele Burzacchini, Enrico Magnelli, Alex Sens, Andreas Willi and others).

- Filologia e Letteratura Greca a Bologna (lectures by Antonio Aloni, Francesco Bossi, Gabriele Burzacchini, Valerio Casadio, Elena Fabbro, Katarzyna Marciniak, Anika Nicolosi, Enrico Magnelli, Alex Sens, Andreas Willi, and others).

Readings/Bibliography

No extra literature is required, besides activities required by lectures and seminars.

Teaching methods

The teaching will be of two different kinds: a) lectures (exposition and argumentation); b) seminars with the active participation of the students (and their previous work on the topic of the seminar) and the use of the tools (traditional and IT) of the philological research.

Assessment methods

At the end of the series of lectures and seminars, the students will be asked to draw a brief report on the meetings attended. Alternatively they can write a specific essay – a reading list will be provided by the teacher – on one or more topics covered in the seminars.
