Learning outcomes

The students will learn the theoretical and practical knowledge to apply to the more suitable sources of European funding to support projects on nature conservation. The training will include lessons on the rules of the European planning and the more effective methodologies of project management. In particular, the students will be able to:

- know the characteristics and the types of projects for the protection of habitats and species to be financed with European funds and the major successful initiatives and EU policies in the field;

- conceive projects through the methodologies recommended at European level such as the Logical Framework Approach;

- know and identify the more suitable European funds to support projects to protect the nature and the environment;

- structure a project suitable for EU financing identifying the problems to be solved, the causes, the objectives, the expected results and actions;

- how to propose to public and private bodies involved in the management of nature (parks, municipalities, associations, etc.) the participation in European calls to support pilot initiatives;

- Acquire the basic knowledge for the management of funded projects

Lessons, presentation and discussion of case studies, project work, analysis of projects financed by the European Commission.

Assessment methods

Oral exam. Evaluation of the project work.
