Learning outcomes

This course aims to provide a general comprehension of phenomena like nuclear fusion and fission
and to develop a wide background about their applications (in particular concerning energy production)
in the modern society.

Course contents

The course aims to provide the basic tools to understand the dynamics and implications of nuclear energy. Nuclear Fission and Fusion are then analyzed by a historical and a theoretical point of view. Some of the most important applications (reactors, weapons, medicine) will be discussed.
