Non-EU citizens resident abroad
Foreign citizens from states not belonging to the European Union who are resident abroad at the time of applying for university admission, and who are not legally classified as equivalent to Italian citizens.

European Union and non-European Union citizens with equivalent rights
Countries belonging to the European Union and countries with equivalent status to European Union states. Other situations of equivalence with Italian citizens.

Exchange students
students who take part in an exchange programme of their own University and follow part of their educational programme at the University of Bologna.
