Advanced Schools

The Advanced Schools combine high-level scientific research with qualified and specialised teaching training.
Institute of Advanced Studies
The Institute of Advanced Studies (ISA) promotes and organizes international and interdisciplinary research activities at the University of Bologna. The Institute selects and host visiting professors, postdoctoral researchers and Ph.D. students visiting the Alma Mater Studiorum.
Advanced School for Health Policy
The School came out of an initiative from the Department of Medicine and Public Health, Business Economics Studies, Economic Sciences and the School of Specialisation in Public Administration Studies.
Advanced School of Humanistic Studies
Inaugurated 15 January 2000, the Advance School of Humanistic Studies provides specific qualifications for students orientated towards research.

The Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators (SSLMIT) is located in the town of Forlì.
Advanced School of Tourism Sciences
The Advanced School of Tourism Sciences was instituted and activated in August 2004 by the Alma Mater Studiorum and the Scientific and Campus Brach of Rimini in order to foster advanced scientific research and professional training in the tourism field.
Advanced School of studies on the city and region
The school manages research programmes, also in collaboration with other Italian or foreign universities, public and private firms; it encourages information exchange and scientific initiatives with the purpose of promoting an active interdisciplinary collaboration within the province of the school's cultural sphere.
