The Advanced School of Tourism Sciences was instituted and activated in August 2004 by the Alma Mater Studiorum and the Scientific and Campus Brach of Rimini in order to foster advanced scientific research and professional training in the tourism field.
The Advanced School of Tourism Sciences is a centre of studies, which continues the long tradition of research and education in the international tourism field initiated by the
Alma Mater Studiorum – University of
Bologna in the 1960s, especially in the Romagna region and the town of
Rimini.
The Advanced School of Tourism Sciences, with the approval of the
Rimini’s Council, was opened on initiative of the
Faculties of Economics (
Rimini), of the
Faculties of Law,
Arts and Humanities (
Bologna), and of the Departments of
Statistical Sciences «Paolo Fortunati», as members of the School. Thanks also to the support and the participation of the most important regional stakeholders, such as the Municipality and the Province of
Rimini, some Foundations, the
Emilia-Romagna Region and the Uni.Rimini Society, the Advanced School aims at the promotion of scientific research in order to enhance local development, both cultural and economical.
The Advanced School of Tourism Sciences is an excellent structure which collects experiences and skills matured in various fields (such as Economics, Law, Arts and Humanities, Management, Statistical Sciences and others); thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, it also strengthens scientific research, innovation and teaching activity, providing expertise and a wide variety of opportunities in tourism field. The School offers masters of first and second level, advanced courses and summer school, some of which financed by the SEF.
