Interdisciplinary Studies in Translation, Languages and Cultures - SITLeC
The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in Translation, Languages and Cultures, established in December of 1999, began its activities in 2000, and was the first Department present at the decentralised branch of the Forlì campus.
Belonging to this department are all of the instructors of the Advanced School of Modern Languages for Interpreters and Translators in language, linguistics, translation, interpretation, literature, Italian and contemporary history as well as all of the language instructors from the Faculty of Political Sciences at Forlì.
The department plans to develop research in the sphere of inter-linguistic and intercultural mediation processes. This field involves rather diverse disciplines, ranging from Linguistics to Anthropology, from textual and literary studies to those of complex linguistic aptitudes and language acquisition. This is so because translation, mediation and interdisciplinary study are mutually involved.
