Italian Studies

The Department of Italian Studies is collected from the group of instruction and research fields which pertain to Italian literature and language, comparative literature, philologies, as well as specific sectors of the history of theatre, cinema and literature and of library science and the history of the book.

Approximately 50 instructors and researcher belong to the Department from five Faculties of Humanistic studies. The technical and administrative staff has 12 members.
The Department also coordinates the teaching activities and seminars connected with various instruction.
There are two research doctorates in the Department: Italian Studies and Comparative Literature.
The heart of the Department, for research and teaching activities is the richly endowed library, among the best in the world for Italian Studies.
