Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology

The Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology is a broad and hetergenic structure that is concerned with the diagnosis and cure of internal, gastroenterological, and metabolic pathologies.

There are ten assistant operative units which belong to the department:

Operative Unit of Internal Medicine Service of Metabolism
Operative Unit of Internal Medicine
Endocrinology Unit
Operative Unit of Gastroenterology
Operative Unit of Diagnostics and Rehabilitation
Operative Unit of Gastroenterology
Immunology and Genetics Laboratory
Operative Unit of Endocrinology
The Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology conducts academic activities of Level I (Faculty of Medicine and Surgery), of Level II Specialisation School in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Endoscopic Digestion, Endocrinology and Metabolism Disorders, Alimentary Science, and in particular, in 2003, it activated the Level II Master's programme in Advanced Endoscopy.
It is also the administrative seat for the Research Doctorate in Ultrasonology in Human and Veterinary Medicine.
The research activity is realised in various sectors of the internal, gastroenterological and endocrine-metabolic fields.
