The Department of Biochemistry "G.Moruzzi" is a monodisciplinary institution where structural, metabolic and molecular studies are pursued in the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, Veterinary and Physical Education Science.
47 Scientists - affiliated to the Schools of Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, Veterinary, Physical Education Science, Biological Sciences and Biomedical Engineering - have a permanent position at the Department.
Most of the scientific activities is coordinated within three research centres focused, respectively, on Cardiac Metabolism, Nutrition and Vitaminology, and Raman Spectroscopy.
Moreover, the Department participates into the activities of the interdepartmental centres for Biotechnology Research, Marine Sciences and Human Nutrition. C
urrently the Department conducts Graduate Programs in Biochemistry and in Cellular and Molecular Biotechnology.
