The Department carries out the appropriate functions in the ambit of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna.
The teaching and scientific activities and the test activities of the Department concern research and diagnostic service disciplines related to the veterinary public health and animal pathology.
These activities are orientated to protecting human and animal health, to guarantee the quality of products of animal origin, and to promote a correct relationship among humans-animals-environment.
The Department has a Quality Management System certified ISO 9001:2000 which has contributed to:
- Bettering the organised level of research
- Facilitate contacts with public and private financial entities
- Focus the attention to using offered services
