In accordance with the University Identity System and with its institutional logo, a new communication element has been conceived: the logotype.

Why a logotype?
To reinforce the visual image of Bologna University on the world wide web, along with all the values with which the University is committed and all that it represents. The logotype will build a unified identity system for all the web-based services which have become a key feature of what the University has to offer.
What are the features?
The elements characterizing Unibo logotype are:
- usage of lowercase, a symbol for the web universe
- .it placed inside a red circle
The red circle containing the .it highlights the sense of integration with the world wide web and is symbolically blended with Unibo logo, thus reinforcing the relationship between the University world and the Internet.
The dot, placed at the centre of the visual, provides a strong and memorable image.
What does it signify?
The logotype has been conceived to create an image which enables users to remember Bologna University in an easy, straightforward manner. The specific elements of the Unibo brand make it:
