This is the core of the Alma Mater Studiorum that manages technical, administrative, teaching, financial and estate matters.

The Administration Director is responsible for all central offices and services of this University and has the function of managing, directing and controlling the Technical-Administrative Personnel. The other directors collaborate with the Administration Director with tasks of functional integration for the structures operating in related areas.

- Administration Areas

Administration areas are parts of the central administration that each deal with a particular sphere of activity (usually indicated by the name of the area). Each area may be divided internally into various organizational units (sectors, services, offices) dealing with particular tasks. These divisions within the area are often ordered hierarchically in order to manage a large number of complex tasks efficiently.

- Working group for benefits in favour of staff

The Working Group was set up upon suggestion of the Chancellor in order to programme initiatives that offer opportunities and concessions in favour of the Staff of the University of Bologna.

- Board of Auditors

The main task of the Board of Auditors, as appointed by the Board of Governors, is to carry out legal-accounting controls.

- Equal Opportunities Committee

The main objectives of the Equal Opportunities Committee are: to collect data on indicators of the individual and organisational wellbeing of the University, to promote activities to raise awareness, and studies related to education.

- Foreign Executive Committee

This Committee aims to coordinate and perform policy-implementing tasks in conformity with the strategic guidelines set by the University bodies.

- Geographical Areas Committee

It is a consultative committee of the Foreign Executive Committee established with the purpose of coordinating different projects belonging to different geographical and territorial areas.
