The President's presentation
According to the President of the University Campus in Forlì, the key factor in the success of the Campus teaching offer is the quality of Higher Education.
"The problem of guaranteeing a level of quality in education, which allows the ability of the individual to emerge and be rewarded is clearly connected with the available financial resources, but also to the mentality present within the Universities. The quality of the students, of the academic staff and of the technical-administratve personnel, the quality of the facilities available for studying should be the inspiring elements of all university policies."
"In the planning of the Forlì University Campus, We asked ourselves what parameters must be considered to assess the quality of sites dedicated to Higher Education, attempting to combine all the various abilities present on those sites: teaching staff, students, technical-administrative personnel, architects, uban planners, engineers. I believe the result is one of an extremely high level that becomes clear on a careful examination of the project."
"Here I would like to highlight some of the elements that have inspired the overall approach. First of all, we decided to promote the integration of the various Faculties, by sharing teaching spaces and services. This allows us to achieve two important elements of quality: the possibility for students to take advantage of multi-disciplinary degree courses and the rational and the optimised use of space and resources by the University. In the second place, emphasis has been placed on the concept of Department that allows one to "read" the presence, in the University, of homogeneous groups within a certain research area, allowing high level research activities also made possible by the quality of the academic staff in the University. Thirdly, the focal point of the Campus is the main Campus Library, a place where teaching meets research, where staff meets students, where the University meets the City."
"Finally, emphasis has been placed upon High-Level Training as well as on Continuous Education as a qualitative element for strengthening the ties between the University and the outside world. All these initiatives are made possible thanks to agreements with international research institutions and with national and international enterptrises and/or organizations."
"To conclude, I am certain that, if we are able to fulfill our aims, the Campus will become a place of excellence where the students, University staff and the people of Forlì will feel part of their University and be proud of it."
