As we have already underlined,
Forlì has
a strongly international dimension, almost a paradox for a small city like this, being tied up to its tradition and its origins. What has opened the city to the rest of the world has been indeed the University and, above all, its students. As a matter of fact, we should remember that
Forlì can boast
a high number of international students, including not only Erasmus exchange students, who stay in the city for a shorter period of time, but also many foreign students, who decide to attend here the entire academic cycle of studies (and in some cases, to live here forever).
With this special section, we want to underline the city’s "international inclination", through its university activities (UniAdrion, the Institute for Central, Eastern and Balkan Europe, the School for Interpreters and Translators, the degree and Master’s degree courses held in English), and through the words of those students who have "flied off" from
Forlì to begin important
professional careers abroad (like
Massimo Toschi, for example). This contradicts the general idea that small universities limit the opportunity of experimenting international experiences.
The University faculties in
Forlì do offer the same opportunities of having access to an international academic and professional environment like other universities in the
Emilia-Romagna region, and these opportunities multiply from year to year. For this reason, apart from the degree course selected, we strongly recommend to
study one or more foreign languages, taking advantage of
CliRo linguistic facilities and courses (the Linguistic Centre of the University in
Romagna,
http://www.cliro.unibo.it/). The Centre is based in Forlì and offers a wide range of language courses for all levels at low costs, including well-equipped linguistic laboratories and a video and book library.
