User Guide to Cesena
User guide to
Cesena
The
Polo scientifico - didattico
of
Cesena
presents the Guide to
Cesena
to all the students, a user's guide to live the city at its best.
Welcome to Cesena
The University seat of
Cesena
, together with the university seats in
Forlì
,
Ravenna
and
Rimini
are the result of the decentralization process started in
Romagna
by the University of
Bologna in
1989, in order to realize a unique multi-Campus example in Italy.
A Guide to the Guide
The obvious addressees are students willing to study in
Cesena
and in
Cesenatico
- visiting students -, but local students and citizens can also find opportunities and information which were unknown to them.
Our history
The origins of the University of
Bologna
are ancient: its foundation is dated back to the year 1088, as it was conventionally established in the last century by a group of historians led by the Italian poet,
Giosuè Carducci
.
Find a home
Finding an accommodation in
Cesena
is not particularly difficult though it may be expensive to pay for it. Besides, it is not always easy to find an accommodation fitting your needs.
Eating in&out
In Romagna food is known to be excellent and this is not a cliché. One of the main attractions of the territory are indeed its wine and food.
Transport
Students can easily travel across
Cesena
on foot or by bike, especially in the city centre. This is one of the privileges of living in a small city like
Cesena
, where destinations are not so far.
Study&Work
If we want university studies to give efficient and profitable results, infrastructures and activities of support are also needed: libraries, study halls and financial aid programs, including full-year scholarships, special programs for periods of study abroad and programs for the elaboration of the final thesis on a specific topic.
Knowledge
Cesena
is a city rich of art and precious historical examples.
Sports and Well-being
The University of
Bologna
has always considered the union of study and sports a very important factor, both as a fundamental learning approach for the forming of the character and for the social relations of the individual.
Taking care
In
Cesena
, as in other parts of
Emilia-Romagna
Region, the efficiency of the health care system is higher than the average national quality level.
Going out & having fun
"Yes, studying is important, but what about spare time?" This is the typical question of first-year students. If selecting the city is not an important factor for parents, for students it’s fundamental.
Green areas and the environs
In the city, there are several green areas and it is possible to have a stroll in a quiet and healthy environment, even in the middle of the city centre.
Cesenatico
Cesenatico
is seat of the university degree course on Fish Farming and Ichthyc-Patology, referring to the
Polo Scientifico-Didattico
of
Cesena
.
