Curricular traineeships

The aim of the curricular traineeship for the students is to supply training initiatives providing for study and work experiences.

This opportunity makes the student's professional choices easier to make thanks to the direct contact with the job market entailed by the degree itself. The curricular traineeship can be carried out at University or non-University organisations/structures and provides for the direct participation in the host organisation/institution’s activities by the students in compliance with the objectives set down by the traineeship programme.

Traineeship procedure

The student may apply for the traineeship at the Faculty Traineeship Office according to the terms laid down in the traineeship regulations, generally by 31st  October or 28th February of each academic year.
For these purposes, the student must first of all ask for an application form at the Traineeship Office (alternatively download the form from the Attachments box here available) and, after having viewed the possible training opportunities and the available activities/institutions, he/she then has to get in touch with the coordinators of the institution selected in order to define the traineeship period and methods. .
The student may also suggest new training agreements to the traineeship commission, with a specific private or public organisations/companies. The student must then come into contact with the Traineeship Coordinator who will appoint a university tutor, chosen from among the Faculty teachers and researchers, and who will check that the host organisation/company meets the traineeship requirements.
The student has to make contact with the company or the organisation coordinator in order to agree upon a detailed traineeship plan, the period and methods of the traineeship. The traineeship plan must also be handed in to the Traineeship Office in duplicate copy.
The Traineeship plan must be drawn up in duplicate copy and be underwritten by the trainee, the university tutor and the company coordinator, and will bear the host organisation/company’s stamp.
The student must ask for the relevant Faculty Traineeship Office the traineeship application form and the logbook needed to carry out the traineeship; the whole booklet must be filled in by the student and be underwritten by the host organisation/company coordinator.
At the end of the traineeship, the trainee must hand back the following material to the Faculty Traineeship Office:

  • the logbook;
  • the documentation received at the start of the traineeship;
  • a final report on the traineeship activities which must be duly underwritten, checked, and supervised by the university tutor

The Traineeship Office will send the logbook and the final report to the Traineeship Commission with the remarks made by the coordinator and the tutor on the trainee's activities.
If the evaluation is successful, the Traineeship Commission then sends the traineeship records to the Traineeship Commission for the allocation of the relevant university credits.
The Traineeship Office will then contact the student and issue the traineeship certificate for the purposes of his/her future academic career.
