The hospital is the ideal facility for teaching activities, where students - with their teachers’ support - have the chance to carry out medications and treatments on the animals.
The Faculty’s Veterinary Hospital is equipped with 3 veterinary surgeries and a surgery for small animals, a diagnostics laboratory, emergency treatment rooms , an X-ray machine and a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus for small animals, an operating theatre for large- animals and a pharmacy.
In addition, the facility offers some accommodation facilities for students, teachers and technical staff. Since the academic year 2002-2003, the Veterinary Hospital has hosted all the clinical cases of the institution, which last year (2004) amounted to 7,500 first medical examinations on small animals and 21,750 days of productive livestock hospitalisation.
