Language Proficiency

The degree course in Physical Education and Sports requires its students to pass a proficiency test in a European Union language.

For the purposes of the attainment of the degree in Physical Education and Sports Activities, the student must show he or she has a good knowledge of a language of the European Union, other than Italian (e.g. English, French, Spanish, German).

Test regulations

Selection of the foreign language at enrolment.
Application to take the language proficiency test on the Altair website.
Language skills required: ALTAIR II (B1).
The language test is carried out at the language laboratories situated in via Filippo Re, 10 - Bologna.
The results of the proficiency test will be available in real-time and will be communicated to the Faculty Secretariat.
If the proficiency test is passed, the student is awarded 3 university credits.

The language proficiency test can be replaced with the recognition of other language certificates or diplomas assessing the language skills required.
The application for the recognition of the language skills must be forwarded to ALTAIR Secretariat by filling in the appropriate form and including the original language certificate or its copy.

The ALTAIR Centre manages free language courses for tutored self-learning addressed to all students from the University of Bologna. Registration to the language courses is not compulsory.
