A dedicated access point to the bibliographical resources of the University of Bologna, as well as a training and guidance centre, a conference room and a meetings venue.
The area created within
Palazzo Paleotti represents an advanced technological centre located in the heart of the city centre. Its rooms are equipped with 250 workstations with internet connections dedicated to university students and personnel and to the users of the council library
Biblioteca Sala Borsa. From each PC, connected to the University network, users can consult
bibliographic catalogues,
database,
digitalized material,
e-magazines, books, dictionaries, encyclopaedias and other full text resources. In addition, other platforms are available for short reading, typing, together with facilities for blind or visually impaired users.
During the opening hours, the technical staff help users to use the websites
Cib,
Sba and
Unibo. For those with special needs, an appointment can be arranged with technical staff who will be available to assist users with their bibliographical searches.
To have access to the rooms, students must show their university membership card, while regular users of the
Sala Borsa library must show their library membership card and a valid identity document. Users are allowed entrance only if a PC platform is available at that moment.
