Information for Foreign applicants to a Professional Master programme

Information for international students who plan to apply for admission to a Professional Master programme.

In the framework of a continuing education system the University of Bologna offers a wide variety of "Master universitari": after a 1st Level or a 2nd cycle degree Course, students can attend job-oriented "Master universitari", of first or second cycle respectively (at least one year / 60 credits), which generally include an internship experience.

Note that a "Master universitario" is a 2nd-cycle degree, but does not give access to 3rd cycle programmes. A "Master universitario" is therefore a different thing from a Master’s Degree in English speaking countries (which roughly
corresponds to an Italian 2nd cycle degree Course).

The University of Bologna offers a broad range of "Master universitari", including part-time and e-learning solutions and
international programmes taught in English. Every "Master universitario" has specific requirements and different starting dates and deadlines.

Non-EU citizens will need to submit the required documents (certified through the "legalizzazione" and translated into Italian, together with the "Certificazione di valore") at the Italian Embassy/General Consulate in their country.

N.B. The documents issued by the Italian Embassy/General Consulate must be sent by the student to the following address:
Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna
Ufficio Master
Via Zamboni, 33  - 40126 Bologna - Italy

EU citizens can directly hand in those same documents at the University of Bologna.

For more information consult the circular of MIUR - Italian Ministry of University and Research in the Highlights box or in the Attachement box.
