Programme

Foldamers are artificial molecular architectures inspired by biopolymers. They are defined by their ability to adopt folded conformations. This workshop will focus on synthetic foldamers, their design and preparation, the characterization of their structures and folding propensity and on the synthetic details of unusual amino acid preparation. The workshop is held in Bologna under the patronage of COST Action CM0803 from the 6th to 8th October 2010.
Attendance will be limited to about 100 participants.

The following distinguished scientists have agreed to participate:

Dieter Seebach (ETH Zurich) (lecture sponsored by Bioblocks Inc., USA)
David J. Aitken (Universitè Paris-Sud)
Jonathan Clayden (University of Manchester)
George Fleet (Oxford University)
Juan R. Granja (Universidad de Santiago)
Janis Janne (University of Eastern Finland)
Knud J. Jensen (University of Copenhagen)
Peter Timmermann (Pepscan)
Claudio Toniolo (Università di Padova)
Zsolt Szakonyi (University of Szeged)
Volkmar Wendisch (Chiroblock)

Conference fee: 150.00 €
Fee includes: participation in all the conference events during the three-day programme, book of abstracts, lunches, coffee breaks, conference dinner and conference wallet.

Organizing Committee: Claudia Tomasini (Univ. Bologna),  Fernando Formaggio (Univ. Padova), Antonio Guarna (Univ. Firenze), Ferenc Fülöp (Univ. Szeged), David Aitken (Univ. Paris-Sud), Rosa Ortuño (UAB, Barcelona), Andrew Wilson (Univ. Leeds), Tamas Martinek (Univ. Szeged).
