About the seminar
The seminar focused on changing approaches to service delivery in light of a transition from administrative to more client-oriented roles, an increasingly diverse workforce an the emergence of multi-professional team working among academic and staff. The seminar was concieved as a demanding session of combined presentations and working groups. It was shaped as a "brain capturing" trial which will aim to assess the participant's current beliefs and skills as applied to the sector.
The seminar has delivered, as intermediate and final goals:
- Round-table sessions on the first-day morning (on research and governance / International Relations / point of view from "periphery" of the University)
- "Provocative" speakers on both days, along with discussion exercises taking place among speakers and participants
- Working group sessions after each of the presentations, in order to immediately challenge participants after introducing new issues
- Plenty of opportunities to provide colleagues and speakers with feedback in order to differently shape some of the work sessions according to issues emerging form the presentation / discussion;
- A draft of a position paper on Professionals currently involved in the sector; their portfolio of skills and their expertise in shaping and delivering University services
