Introduction

Summer and Winter Schools are a recent but important addition to the University of Bologna's educational spectrum. They are usually structured as intensive courses on many different subjects designed to match new educational and professional needs.

Summer Schools

Summer Schools are international courses organised by the University of Bologna. They may last from one to four weeks and they normally take place in the summer, mostly outside of traditional academic structures.

Winter Schools

	Winter Schools are international courses organised by the University of Bologna and held during the winter. They have many characteristics in common with the summer schools such as the residential nature and short duration of the courses and the use of places of learning and classrooms that are usually not part of the official academic structures.
