Learning outcomes

The main objective of this module consists in giving to the student the basic knowledge about the construction of the planning tools, in particular of those at the municipal level.

Course contents

The main objective of the module  consists in developing a critical attitude about the organization and the functioning of the settlements, particularly referring to the conception and the topics of the planning tools.

The module has the aim of deepening the theme of urban sustainability in its different aspects, with particular attention the following themes: the sustainability in the Italian planning tools; the  Evaluation of Environmental Impact; some basic knowledge about urban ecology; the design of the urban/territorial green spaces; sustainability and mobility; environmental and social sustainability in the residential settlements.

The recommended readings will be indicated during the lessons

Teaching methods

The lectures will be integrated by the presentation of case studies. During the module  a practical work of survey, selected together with the teachers, will be developed by the students in groups of two.

Assessment methods

The oral exam includes the discussion of the main module's themes and the presentation of the practical work executed by the students.
