Programme profile

This 2nd cycle Degree Programme:
- promotes the development of a solid ability to elaborate original ideas for the design and implementation of development and cooperation projects and programmes.
- provides the knowledge and ability to apply such knowledge in the production, implementation, evaluation and problem-solving of specific project and programme documents of a multi-disciplinary nature (in particular, socio-statistical, economic and political-legal), also in different geographical areas to those dealt with during the programme.

Expected learning outcomes

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
2nd cycle graduates:
- will possess in-depth cultural and methodological knowledge in socio-statistical and economic as well as historical-political and legal fields, applied to the analysis of local systems at different levels of development;
- will possess in-depth knowledge of the historical and political developments of at least one geographical area and will be able to understand the consequent institutional developments.

APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING:
2nd cycle graduates:
- will be able to use statistical sources and analyse and process statistical-economic and statistical-social, as well as geographical and demographic data;
- will be able to process and produce specific project and programme documents of a multi-disciplinary nature and to interact with other specialists and other interlocutors working in various organisations.
MAKING JUDGEMENTS:
Graduates:
- will be able to make their own judgements concerning the feasibility, efficiency/effectiveness of development and cooperation projects and programmes;
- will be able to interpret even incomplete legal information sources.
COMMUNICATION:
2nd cycle graduates:
- will know how to manage external relations and develop flexible and autonomous skills in organising work;
- will be able to communicate in the English language orally and in writing.
LEARNING SKILLS:
2nd cycle graduates:
- will possess learning and study skills which allow them to handle research problems in various fields in an autonomous manner.

Final examination

The final examination consists in the presentation and discussion of an original dissertation relative to the typical subject contents of the degree class, supported by a detailed summary in English

It gives access to third cycle studies (Dottorato di ricerca/Scuole di specializzazione) and master universitario di secondo livello.
